MASTER OF HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (MHA) PROGRAM
BLOCK WEEK STUDY ABROAD EXPERIENCE
October 20 – October 29, 2017
The MHA program will participate in the Block Week experience in conjunction with the set program at the Hochschule, Osnabrück (HO). Graduate students in CNHP participate alongside 15-20 undergraduate and graduate health management students from the HO in a week long experience involving collaborative study, health facilities tours, and cultural experiences. The success of this program is based on merging U.S. and German students together in terms of discussion and intercultural experiences. The academic portion of the experience will be led Professor Kevin Valadares (USI), while Professor Hendrike Berger (HO) will lead the healthcare facility/cultural aspects of the experience.
MHA students (2 nd year) are eligible to participate on a voluntary basis. The link to the MHA program is set within the students’ capstone project (concurrent with the Block Week experience). MSN students participating in the Management/Leadership track are also eligible to participate.
Pre-Departure Orientation/On-site Orientation
A pre-departure orientation (led by the USI Office of International Programs and Services) will occur in late September/early October. Drs. Valadares and Berger will conduct the on-site orientation on Sunday, October 22, 2017.
